The Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IATP) is a UK not-for-profit organisation. IATP works in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to independently assess and accredit asbestos training providers. It also supports asbestos related charities and works to raise awareness of the dangers of asbestos.
IATP currently provides accreditation for three types of training courses:
- Asbestos Awareness (previously Type A)
- Non-Licensed Asbestos Work (previously Type B)
- Licensed Asbestos Work (previously Type C)
- IATP accreditation for asbestos training courses is recognised throughout the UK
By having IATP accreditation, a training provider can show that their courses meet industry standards and comply with best practices. IATP use expert auditors to assess training courses, so trainees can feel confident that they will receive all the information they require to perform asbestos related tasks safely.
Upon successful completion of an approved course, trainees will be awarded a certificate that bears the IATP logo.
