Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
CPD hours measure time spent actively learning. Points, units and credits are alternative measures used by professional bodies. The CPD Certification Service describes a typical conversion of one point to one hour, but learners should follow their own professional body’s recording rules.
A CPD certificate provides evidence of completed learning. Employers or professional bodies may accept it as part of a development record. CPD certification alone does not make a course a regulated UK qualification or give it a qualification level.
Yes. Online courses can form part of CPD where the learning is relevant to the individual’s development needs. Acceptance depends on the professional body’s requirements, including any rules on learning methods, evidence and reflection. Certification does not guarantee acceptance by every body.
