Customer Feedback

Why Is Fire Door Awareness Training Important?

It has been estimated that three-quarters of all fire doors in the UK would fail inspection. The Grenfell Tower incident of 2017 made it clear that this is not just a compliance issue. As the resulting inquiry revealed, many of the fire-resistant doors in the building did not perform as expected. This was due to improper maintenance, a lack of regular fire door inspections and poor knowledge of the importance of fire doors.

Since the Grenfell Tower fire, updated policies on the Fire Safety Act and Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 have been put out. They focus on updated fire door inspection procedures and guidelines and provide a less lenient approach to fire safety.

Our online Fire Door Awareness course provides a greater understanding of what fire doors are and why they are essential. It aims to help prevent tragedy and ensure that when disaster strikes, the measures we have in place to protect us are able to do their job.

About Fire Door Awareness Training

Fire doors are integral to the fire safety of a building. They are designed to allow residents to escape a burning building and emergency services to come in, while stopping the passage of fire and smoke. But fire doors cannot function if they are not in place and maintained in suitable condition.

Our Fire Door Awareness Training course provides an understanding of this key fire safety equipment that every duty holder or anyone with fire safety responsibilities must be aware of.
