The Grenfell Tower tragedy exposed systemic flaws in the UK‘s building safety regime. The Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA) was central to the response. It overhauled existing regulations and imposed new duties on professionals in construction and building management.
Under the BSA, duty holders must meet higher standards for safety, reporting and risk management throughout a building’s lifecycle. There must also be clear accountability and transparency at all times. An organisation-wide awareness of the key components of the Act is essential to ensure total compliance.
