New Breaking Ground in Construction for Duty Holders Training

Breaking Ground for Duty Holders Course

Equip Duty Holders with Essential Breaking Ground Safety Knowledge

We’re delighted to announce the launch of our IIRSM-approved Breaking Ground in Construction for Duty Holders Training course. It’s designed to provide duty holders with an in-depth understanding of their responsibilities during breaking ground work.

Users will learn to assess risks, implement control measures and supervise excavation work as required by the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).

This course also includes a free digital checklist to help users plan, review and document control measures for compliance.

Why Is This Course Important?

Breaking ground work is recognised by the Health and Safety Executive as high-risk. Every year, hazards such as collapses, falls and utility strikes lead to serious accidents and fatal injuries.

Under CDM 2015, duty holders must ensure the safety of workers and the public during breaking ground activities. All work must be planned, risk assessed and supervised by competent people who understand breaking ground safety and compliance under CDM 2015.

This course provides users with in-depth knowledge of breaking ground duties and the control measures that must be in place to ensure safe and compliant breaking ground work.

Users will learn:

  • Excavation safety standards and legal frameworks
