Dangerous goods transport responsibilities extend beyond the driver. Warehouse and logistics staff, drivers, and shipping and transport office staff can all be involved at different stages, from receiving, storing and preparing goods to loading, transport, delivery, handover and reporting.
Where these responsibilities are divided across different roles, staff need training that reflects the functions they actually perform. The right knowledge at each stage supports consistent checks, documentation, handling and communication throughout the movement of dangerous goods.
This toolkit gives organisations a structured way to provide role-specific dangerous goods transport training across warehouse, driving and transport office functions. Written with reference to ADR 2025, the courses follow the work carried out by each group and cover the checks, duties and information relevant to their part of the transport process.
Transport, logistics and health and safety teams can use this toolkit to support a more consistent approach across the organisation and maintain evidence of completed training. Employers must also provide any site-, load-, procedure- or task-specific instruction needed for the work being carried out and confirm practical competence where required.
