New Online Course: ISO 14001 Awareness Training

We’re pleased to introduce our latest online course: ISO 14001 Awareness Training.

This IIRSM-approved course introduces employees to the ISO 14001 standard for environmental management and its role in everyday operations.

Developed for frontline workers, supervisors and line managers, the course explains the structure of the standard, introduces key concepts, and highlights the importance of worker participation in maintaining an effective environmental management system (EMS).

The course is ideal for general staff and operational teams that contribute to environmental management but do not directly oversee the EMS. It builds a shared foundation of knowledge that supports both the implementation of ISO 14001 and the ongoing performance of the environmental management system.

Why Is ISO 14001 Awareness Training Important?

ISO 14001 provides a globally recognised framework for improving environmental performance. To implement the standard successfully, organisations must meet each of its auditable clauses, which set out key requirements for planning, resourcing and worker participation.

Under Clause 7, all workers must be aware of the standard, how it applies to everyday work, and ways they can support environmental performance.

This course helps meet this requirement by introducing the key principles of ISO 14001 in practical terms. It explains the structure of the standard and reinforces the importance of employee contributions to environmental management.

Trainees will understand what an environmental management system is and how their actions support both compliance and continual improvement. This shared knowledge is essential for the successful implementation of ISO 14001 and the long-term performance of the EMS.
