This IIRSM-approved Harness and Lanyard Awareness Training course provides the essential knowledge needed to work safely at heights using harnesses and lanyards.
The course outlines how to select, use and maintain harnesses and lanyards under the Work at Height Regulations 2005. Users will understand how to ensure safety when deploying harnesses and lanyards in both fall-arrest and fall-restraint systems. Falls from height are the most common type of fatal accident at work in the UK. According to the Health and Safety Executive, falls from height account for nearly 40% of workplace fatalities and around 8% of non-fatal injuries.
To prevent these accidents, workers must use harnesses and lanyards to minimise the risk of falling while at height.
Our Harness and Lanyard Awareness Training Course equips workers with skills and knowledge to correctly use, inspect and maintain harnesses and lanyards. They learn their legal duties, how to carry out pre-use checks on equipment and approved fitting and anchoring practices.
