New Online Course: Legionella Training for Property Managers
We are pleased to introduce our latest online course: Legionella Training for Property Managers
This IIRSM-approved course helps property managers and landlords ensure water systems in their buildings are safe from Legionella risks.
It explains what Legionella is, how the bacteria grows in water systems and which conditions create the highest risks. It then sets out simple steps to reduce those risks and help ensure systems are compliant with the multiple laws and regulations governing building safety and occupants’ welfare.
Why Is Legionella for Property Managers Training Important?
By law, anyone responsible for social housing, higher-risk buildings or commercial properties must ensure water systems are safe. As part of this duty, Legionella risks must be carefully assessed and managed, with clear records of actions kept.
This IIRSM-approved awareness course supports these responsibilities. It explains how Legionella spreads, which groups are most vulnerable and how risk assessments must be used to ensure water system safety and compliance.
It then introduces the practical controls such as flushing, temperature checks and simple design improvements that reduce risks. The course also covers documentation, including the written schemes of control required for all regulated water systems. It outlines what to record for compliance, and highlights the information that must be shared with building occupants
After completing this course, property managers and other duty holders will have the knowledge to make water systems safer and to demonstrate that Legionella risks are being managed in line with legal duties.
