Children are the most vulnerable among us. As such, it is the legal and moral duty of anyone who comes into contact with children to safeguard them from harm. This online training programme provides users with an understanding of how to do this. Only by working together to spot potential cases of abuse and taking action when we do, can we stop it from occurring.
About half a million children suffer from abuse each year in the UK, according to the latest data available. At the same time, levels of abuse of have increased. There was an exponential rise in child cruelty cases in England and Wales, increasing from about 6,000 to approximately 30,000 in 10 years.
Abuse is complex. It can come in many forms, and the signs may not be what you expect. In order to ensure our children are protected, we must know what to look for and how to respond in the worst case scenario.
