Why is Emergency Lighting Testing Training Important?

Emergency lighting activates when the main system fails. During a power cut or fire, it illuminates escape routes and exits so people can safely evacuate a building.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires all non-domestic premises to have emergency lighting installed as needed to ensure safe evacuations. These emergency lighting systems must be maintained in efficient working order. Monthly testing is part of this maintenance.

This Emergency Lighting Testing Course provides the knowledge required to test emergency lighting and ensure it’s working as needed. It explains testing procedures and highlights issues to look for. It also describes what to record. By completing this course, users will understand how to prepare for, carry out and document mandatory emergency lighting tests.
