Some bomb threats are placed well in advance and contain specific information. The precise motive behind these is often difficult to ascertain but could include extortion, an intent to disrupt or distract, or general maliciousness. Regardless of the motive, bomb threats and suspicious packages are obviously disruptive to operations and can have far-ranging negative impacts.
It’s important that staff understand how to handle a bomb threat in the workplace, if there is any chance they will receive them.
There has been an increasing prevalence of bomb threats and suspicious packages as well as violence in general at work. As a result, experts have developed techniques to prepare for these situations and keep employees safe. This e-Learning programme works through these techniques, so that employees know what to expect and what to do if such a situation occurs.
