Why Is Working at Height in Construction Important?

Falls from height are the single largest cause of death and serious injury on construction sites. Fatal or serious accidents can even happen from heights of two or fewer metres.

Along with the moral duty to protect staff from risk of injury, there is a clear legal obligation. The Safety Health and Welfare at Work Construction Regulations 2016, Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Construction Regulations 2017 legally obligate worker safety. The Work at Height Regulations 2005 is also intended to prevent these dangerous situations and protect workers.

About Working at Height in Construction

Employees working at height on construction sites must be aware of the risks they face and the measures they need to protect them. They must understand how to conduct this type of work without risk to themselves or others.

This course is designed to help employers meet their legal duties to provide an adequate level of training in respect to work at height.
