About ISO 14001 Training

ISO 14001:2015 is the internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems (EMS). It helps organisations manage environmental responsibilities through a structured framework that supports compliance, reduces environmental risk, and drives continual improvement through the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle.

Our ISO 14001 training is offered at two levels:

  • Awareness: For frontline staff—a quick overview of ISO 14001 and how to support the EMS.
  • Implementation: For EMS owners and environmental leads—step-by-step guidance to implement, maintain, and improve an ISO 14001:2015-aligned EMS, supported by a free digital e-Checklist.

Each course can be taken on its own—no prior ISO 14001 knowledge needed.

Why This Training is Important

An EMS only works when people understand it and take part. ISO 14001 training gives learners the knowledge and confidence to support environmental objectives, follow EMS processes, and contribute to ongoing improvement.

ISO 14001 training helps organisations:

  • Strengthen environmental performance through consistent processes and shared responsibilities
  • Identify and manage environmental risks while spotting opportunities to improve
  • Support compliance obligations with clearer awareness and better control of documented information
  • Build a culture of continual improvement using the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) approach

With the right training in place, ISO 14001 becomes more than a standard—it becomes part of how work is done.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are no prerequisites. Awareness is a good starting point for most learners, but it isn’t required—choose the course that matches the responsibilities of the learner.

No. ISO 14001 certification requirements don’t require everyone to hold a specific “ISO 14001 training certificate.” You do need evidence that people are competent and aware (Clauses 7.2–7.3)—training is a common way to show this.

Each course is structured to match a different learning need:

  • Awareness Training: Frontline staff and anyone who needs a quick overview of ISO 14001 and how they support the EMS day-to-day.
  • Implementation Training: EMS owners, environmental managers/leads, and implementation teams responsible for planning, operating, evaluating, and improving an ISO 14001:2015-aligned EMS.
