The training is suitable for those who are in charge of a workplace that involves lifting equipment and those who perform lifting operations as a part of their job.
The course aims to provide a thorough understanding of how a lifting operations risk assessment should be conducted.
Lifting operations frequently involving large, awkward and heavy items present a high risk of accidents.
Whilst these types of accidents are rare; the consequences are often serious or fatal. They can involve broken limbs, amputations and crushing, and permanent damage, effectively stopping workers from ever working again.
The health and safety at work act, requires everyone to do all that is reasonably practicable to prevent accidents and incidents at work. LOLER requires all lifting operations to be carried out safely. The consequences of failing to comply with these regulations are severe.
