About Fire Door Inspection Training

Fire door inspections must be completed regularly to ensure doors are in safe working condition. Anyone conducting inspections must have suitable skills, knowledge and experience to be deemed competent for the task.

This online course gives trainees an in-depth understanding of fire door inspections. Modules cover fire door standards, design and inspection procedures.

Why Is Fire Door Inspection Training Important?

Fire Doors are a crucial part of every building’s fire safety design. They stop the spread of fire, creating safe evacuation routes for occupants and allowing quick entry for emergency responders. Fire doors also limit property damage by containing fires.

However, the majority of fire doors would fail in an emergency, according to the Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS). A recent survey conducted by FDIS found that around three-quarters of fire doors in the UK do not meet the required standards.

Having fire doors in place is not enough. They must be inspected on a regular basis to ensure they are in safe working condition.
